Stones were marked for each of the fallen during the Coldstream Guards recent time in Afghanistan. The stones came from the River Tweed and were returned there.
Lt Col Grey, RSM Stokes, and those Coldsream Guards who were present during Coldstream Civic Week, carried the stones to the Tweed and placed them East to West near where General Monk forded the river so long ago.
Forever shall they stand as guardians between their place of birth and the birthplace of their Regiment.
